Post Lake to Lake woes

this week has been very rough. on Tuesday, i started to get some sort of flu, no doubt caused by my episode on Sunday. After being sick for 3 or so days a trip to the hospital occurred at the recommendation of my doctor. They thought i may have appendicitis, but luckily after 6 hours in the er, i was found to have a flu. thanks everyone, i would have just stayed home if it were not for my paranoid father. So after missing the Wednesday night race and a rice hill road race i am left being stressed and not having rode for 6 days. raccoon rally is next weekend and despite previous high aspirations i think i will have lost substantial fitness and the hope of placing.

Lake to Lake

Lake to Lake went well as expected. A solid third place turned into a 5th place finish because i took a wrong turn somewhere along the way, and the guys behind me ended up in front of me with no passing! Well, my mistake wrong turn, it is still a part of racing. I still managed a 1st in my age group though.

After the race, a killer headache ensued, i was seeing stars from too much caffeine (gus). I proceeded to the EMT tents where some nice cute ladies gave me some oxygen and talked to me. After puking my brains out of the side of Brian's truck onto some tailgating Saturn i felt better. awards were super late as usual but i got a siqqqqq coffee maker from the event dude because he felt bad for my misfortune.

two weeks until the rally and i feel like i am so ready for it (no wrong turns)

Empire State Tryouts

Today was Empire tryouts in good old boston ny. 6 mile tt followed by the 50 mile road race. 1000+ feet of climbing per lap. It was probably one of the hardest efforts i have ever put down, and it paid off. despite camping setting in in the 3rd lap, the lead group with me in it stayed together until the 5th lap, when it blew apart, and 5 guys left me and another guy behind. I placed 7th, which qualifies me for the games. today i was fairly pleased with my performance and it makes me feel like things will be in a great position for the rally and lake to lake in 14 days.
